With a legacy of hosting some of the best events in the country, rivaling many venues in major cities such as Las Vegas, Atlantic City and New York City, Turning Stone has established Upstate New York as a premier destination for live sporting events.

“Turning Stone has become known for hosting some of most legendary live sporting events in the country, from golf to boxing, and now mixed martial arts,” said Ray Halbritter, Oneida Nation Representative and Nation Enterprises CEO.  “On October 14, we will continue that legacy of bringing the best, most highly-anticipated events to our region.”

Led by CEO Campbell McLaren, also the co-founder/co-creator of the Ultimate Fighting Championship® (UFC®), Combate Americas will present the six action-packed professional fights of the event.  Combate Americas is the first U.S. Hispanic MMA sports franchise in history.

“I am both thrilled and grateful to the people at Turning Stone that Combate Americas has been given the opportunity to bring professional MMA back to New York,” said McLaren, who executive produced and marketed the first-ever MMA event in the Empire State with UFC  7.

“This event has a great deal of sentimental value to me,“ continued McLaren, “and, on October 14, we are going to usher in a new era for MMA in New York with an incredible and memorable event featuring the kind of hard-hitting action that you can only find in the cage.”

Presenting six amateur fights on October 14, Las Vegas-based Tuff-N-Uff has presented the best amateur MMA action in the country, giving rise to the biggest star in the sport today, former UFC bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey, as well as UFC and Strikeforce veteran Ryan Couture and UFC welterweight Alan Jouban.

“I am pleased to work with Turning Stone Resort Casino to bring the fastest growing sport in history to fight fans in the Empire State,” said Bryan Lindsey, Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, Tuff-N-Uff. “Presenting the first MMA event at Turning Stone fits perfectly into our strategic plan to establish Tuff-N-Uff on the east coast and increase the number of shows per year. We are excited for October 14th! New Yorkers are going to love our talented athletes and the non-stop fight action of Tuff-N-Uff MMA.”
