Q&A with NY Rec & Social Club Chef de Cuisine Dustin Tuthill:
Q: How will NY Rec & Social Club bring new excitement to the award-winning dining experiences offered at Turning Stone?
Chef Dustin Tuthill: “When we were developing the menu, we took the foods you’d typically see at a sports bar, but then we put our own unique twist on it. Presentation is going to be a standout feature at NY Rec & Social Club. There is going to be a lot of what I call the “fajita effect” where everyone stares at the steaming, sizzling pan that smells great as it goes by – and then says, ‘Yes, I’ll take one of those!’”
Q: How will the food transform guest favorites into new experiences?
Chef Dustin Tuthill: “We’re giving guests permission to experiment with the food and try different flavors in a way they’ve never done before. Anyone can serve a burger or onion rings, but we are going to provide that OMG moment where guests want to show it off, take pictures of it, post on social media and talk about their experience.”
Q: Which dishes will guests be talking about after their visit? What are we going to see on everyone's social media?
Chef DustinTuthill: “There are a lot of standout items on the menu, but a few I’m anticipating will quickly become favorites: our one-of-a-kind pigs in blankets with Hofmann beer brats, made exclusively for us at NY Rec & Social Club – this isn’t something you can buy in the store. We wanted these to be impressive, so we took these large beer brats and wrapped them in the best puff pastry you’ve ever had.
There’s also our juicy smoked burgers served with a Las Vegas-style presentation with a glass dome over the burger that is filled with smoke that intensifies the flavor. As our servers present the burger, they remove the glass dome, releasing the smoke and aroma.
We also have more than 10 different flavors of chicken wings, but we’re taking what guests expect in a chicken wing and elevating it to something they aren’t expecting. We’re making a different play on flavors and combining it with the biggest wings this side of the Finger Lakes to make it the best wing experience ever.”
