How Turning Stone Became New York's MMA Hub
After long ago establishing itself as a premier venue for legendary boxing events, Turning Stone Resort Casino’s unparalleled facilities have now also designated the resort as New York’s home for engrossing Mixed Martial Arts bouts. And Summer 2017’s feature does not disappoint.
Bellator MMA, the #2 MMA promoter in the world, has chosen Turning Stone as the host of its first ever fight in Upstate New York fight on Friday, August 25.
The action-packed card for Bellator 182 will feature two main events sure to spark fireworks. Former Bellator welterweight champ Andrey Koreshkov (19-2) will take on Chidi Njokuani (17-4, 1 NC), and a second showdown pits Brennan Ward (14-5) against Fernando Gonzalez (26-14). Featherweight A.J. McKee will also return to the cage fresh off an ESPN "SportsCenter" Top-Ten finish of Dominic Mazzotta in his last outing.
This not-to-be-missed event will be broadcast live on SPIKE at 9 p.m. Tickets are now on sale, and can be purchased in person at the Turning Stone Box Office, by calling 877.833.SHOW, or online at Ticketmaster.com.
These fighters will join a prestigious rank of combat athletes who have appeared at Turning Stone including Mike Tyson, Floyd Mayweather, Jr. and many more.
Few venues have what it takes to host Mixed Martial Arts, and Bellator’s choice of Turning Stone for this stacked card solidifies the 3400-acre resort as New York State’s premier venue for world-class combat sports.
