It’s almost as if Ashley Scribner was destined for greatness in bingo.

Ashley, a bingo service representative, received one of this year’s ultra-exclusive First in Excellence Awards, Oneida Nation Enterprises’ highest employee recognition awards, for the diligence and positive attitude she brings to the bingo room at Turning Stone Resort Casino. Managers and colleagues rave about the way Ashley anticipates what guests need, and how she always is ready to offer a friendly smile.

Really, however, Ashley’s connection to excellence in bingo may be in her DNA; her grandmother Mel worked for Turning Stone in the same department for more than 30 years.

“It was always my dream to follow in her footsteps,” Ashley said.

Ashley grew up in Central New York and started working for Turning Stone in 2018. Almost immediately, Ashley set herself apart with kindness, patience, and understanding. She helped others in every way possible. She devoted her own time to assisting management with several important projects. She also trained new employees, supported coworkers on and off the job, and nominated fellow team members for awards to show appreciation for their contributions.

For all these reasons, her colleagues and managers nominated her for a First in Excellence award.

“Working in bingo has always felt like part of a team,” she said. “I’m thankful for the opportunity to bring joy to so many people every day.”

It seems fitting that Ashley would win the First in Excellence honor, as the award recognizes colleagues who exemplify the values that define Oneida Nation Enterprises: excellence in service to our guests and to our co-workers.

As a reward for achieving this award, Ashley will receive a fully paid vacation to the destination of her choice, plus five additional vacation days to enjoy her getaway.
