Monstrous Money for All
October will be monstrous this year as 15 lucky Turning Stone Resort Casino guests will have the opportunity to grab as much money as they can muster in 60 seconds.
Overall, guests can win as much as $100,000 before the clock strikes 12 on Halloween Eve.
The promotion revolves around the Money Machine—a phonebooth-style box that stands freely on the casino floor. The box is filled with Monopoly-like bills that can be exchanged for real money. When guests step in, air in the box is circulated at speeds of up to 20 or 30 mph and guests must catch as many of the bills as they can in 60 seconds.
Machine sessions will be held every Sunday, and because the promotion is playing out in October, the entire endeavor will have a Halloween theme. As part of this theme, the fake bills have different monsters on them—Frankenstein, Dracula, a mummy and so on.
Promotions Manager Dale Romleski said the monster theme is a bonus for a diversion that attracts plenty of attention on its own.
“The Money Machine is one of the promotions guests love to watch,” he said. “It’s mesmerizing to watch the money flying around, it draws people in, and encourages everyone to cheer on other guests to grab as much money as they can.”
Dale added that the process of grabbing money inside the box is significantly more difficult than it looks.
“It’s disorienting when you’re in there,” said Dale. “Money is whipping around at high speeds, and it whizzes by your face quickly. If you don’t have a plan to catch the money, you might not get much.”
The first step toward getting into the Money Machine is entering a drawing, and guests can earn entries by using TS Rewards cards to play slots or table games between midnight on September 27 and 7 p.m. on Halloween. Three winners will be selected each week, and winners will get their turns in the machine at 6 p.m., 7 p.m., and 8 p.m. every Sunday. The final night of the drawing will be Halloween.
Guests must activate their entries on each drawing date within one hour of the applicable drawing. Obviously, since guests must physically catch money in the box, they must be present to win.
According to Dale, the most any guest can win during one session in the machine is $5,000.
Regular visitors to Turning Stone may recognize the Money Machine from previous promotions. It’s something we typically roll out at least once a year. The last time we used the attraction was on New Year’s Eve.
We expect this round with the Money Machine to be even more exciting. Good luck!
