Most bingo games at Turning Stone Resort Casino net the winner or winners a wad of cash. On Mother’s Day, games during our matinee session will offer something more: Money and designer handbags.

Among the brand names in our handbag prize pool: Michael Kors, Coach, and Kate Spade.

We’re calling the game “Designer Bag Bingo,” and Director of Bingo Operations Samantha Archer said she’s expecting it to be one of the most sought-after sessions of the year. For this reason, Samantha is encouraging guests to pre-register; registration is open now and runs straight up until the day of the games on May 8.

As Samantha explains it, simply signing up in advance will earn guests a free handbag from Vera Bradley, Jones New York, or Tahari.

If they win, guests can choose from among a total of 42 ultra-high-end handbags.

“Everybody gets one handbag, and if you win, you’ll get a second handbag and one of the top brands,” she said, noting that all games on the day pay $2,500, too. “The idea is to offer something totally different from what we usually do and make it something special for the moms and grandmas.”

Samantha added that guests who reserve in advance for a party of eight or more will receive a free gift pack with party favors and $25 in Bingo Bucks, valid for any session in June. Another benefit of pre-registration: You get to pick your seat and the bingo boards you select will be waiting for you at that seat on the day of the game.

(In case you’re wondering, buy-ins for Mother’s Day Bingo are $65 for the paper pack, $99 for the basic electronics with 21 faces, and $135 for the “glamor queen” electronics with 45 faces.)

Never one to shy away from the spotlight, Samantha took full credit for the idea behind the Mother’s Day game, saying she and Bingo Manager Vickie Delaney devised it as a way of making bingo more appealing again to a widespread audience.

“We bounce ideas off each other to make sure we’re creating the best experience possible for the guests,” Samantha said. “This is the first time we’ve ever done something like this. Based on excitement levels already, I’m pretty sure it won’t be the last.”
