Sweep of Forbes Travel Guide Awards for Turning Stone
Here in Upstate New York, four plus four equals No. 1.
This equation penciled out to be proper math last month, as Turning Stone Resort Casino became the only resort in New York to earn four Forbes Travel Guide Four-Star Awards, and the only resort in the state with top honors in each of three award categories: hotel, restaurant, and spa.
Specifically, Turning Stone won Four-Star awards for meeting extremely high hospitality standards at The Lodge at Turning Stone, Wildflowers restaurant, TS Steakhouse, and Skana Spa.
These accolades amplify previous awards. Skana remains the only Forbes-rated spa in New York outside of the Big Apple, while Turning Stone's premier restaurants—Wildflowers and TS Steakhouse—remain the only Forbes Four-Star rated restaurants in the Empire State north of the New York City line.
Oneida Indian Nation Representative and Oneida Nation Enterprises CEO Ray Halbritter said he was overjoyed to receive the news of this honor.
Mr. Halbritter added that the distinction celebrates our team’s constant push for excellence.
“Providing exceptional guest service and premier amenities is part of our DNA and is foundational to everything we do,” he said. “This recognition from Forbes Travel Guide and being distinguished among an elite group of the most exceptional resorts in the world remains our barometer for maintaining the highest standards of hospitality and guest service.”
As part of the award, Forbes Travel Guide reviewers published glowing descriptions for each of our winning venues.
Forbes described The Lodge as “Upstate New York's answer to high-end hospitality” with “luxurious with sleek and spacious interiors.” It noted that with all suite accommodations, it's “a stay that's a little more like home.”
Elsewhere in the guide, Forbes touted Skana’s peaceful setting as “oozing tranquility from the moment you enter the front doors...to the time you leave.”
Forbes reviewers loved TS Steakhouse with its breathtaking views and amenities, labeling it “one of the best see-and-be-seen places” in the region. The critics also hailed touches of Oneida Indian Nation culture throughout the restaurant, noting that the cultural iconography “adds a touch of authenticity to the high-in-the-sky culinary experience.”
Finally, the Forbes team described Wildflowers as, “Upstate elegance with seasonal flair,” and said the restaurant’s subtle lighting and intimate décor creates “a romantic ambience and a quiet place to enjoy your evening.”
The recent haul of Forbes Travel Guide Four-Star awards follows a star-studded year of recognition for Turning Stone by the most esteemed and trusted names in hospitality. Spas of Americas named Skana the No. 1 spa in North America; Conde Nast Johansens honored Turning Stone with its elite Award of Excellence; Golf Digest gave Turning Stone an Editor’s Choice Award; and OpenTable honored Peach Blossom, TS Steakhouse, Wildflowers and Pino Bianco with 2022 Diners' Choice Awards.
Turning Stone also earned accolades from AAA with three Four Diamond Awards, and USA Today ranked the resort as one of its 10 Best Casino Hotels.
We are proud of our accomplishments, and we are honored to share them with our guests.
