Another year, another quartet of four-star accolades for Turning Stone Resort Casino from Forbes Travel Guide.

As part of the 2023 honors, Turning Stone was distinguished as the only resort in New York to earn four Four-Star Awards from Forbes, and the only resort in the state with honors in each of three award categories: hotel, restaurant, and spa. We achieved the same distinctions in 2022.

Specific winners for 2023 included The Lodge at Turning Stone, Wildflowers restaurant, TS Steakhouse and Skʌ:nʌ́: (Skana Spa). Skʌ:nʌ́ is the only Forbes-rated spa in New York outside of New York City. Also, Wildflowers and TS Steakhouse remain the only Forbes-rated restaurants outside of New York City.

The Forbes process of evaluating winners is sophisticated.

Incognito inspectors stay at each property for three days and two nights and pose as regular guests. The anonymous inspectors test up to 900 objective, rigorous standards, from modern-day luxuries—such as whether a room is set up to enhance sleep or whether the food-and-beverage choices are health-conscious—to more traditional amenities, such as the quality of the décor and the courtesy of the staff.

For this reason, Forbes Travel Guide is considered one of the global authorities of hospitality and luxury travel. The guide rates hundreds of different properties, restaurants, and spas, in more than 75 different countries on five different continents.

In 2023, only 585 hotels, 113 restaurants and 195 spas in the world achieved Four-Star ratings, representing an elite portion of the properties assessed.

The most recent Forbes distinctions follow a consistent run of recognition for Turning Stone by some of the most esteemed and trusted names in hospitality. Over the last 18 months Spas of Americas named Skʌ:nʌ́: the No. 1 spa in New York, and Golf Digest named Turning Stone one of the Best Golf Resorts in the Americas with its Editors’ Choice Awards. Turning Stone also earned accolades from AAA with three Four Diamond awards, and Conde Nast Johansens honored Turning Stone with its elite Award of Excellence.
