Slots with Hollywood Appeal
With nearly 2,000 slot machines at Turning Stone Resort Casino, there are plenty of choices when guests want to try their luck.
But some of our slots appeal to a particular set of guests—those who love Hollywood.
Currently we have several different slot machines that pay homage to television shows and movies. Among the favorite titles: Ghostbusters, Monty Python and the Holy Grail, and Game of Thrones.
Undoubtedly, you’ve seen these machines on the gaming floor; at last check, all of them were within mere steps of the main table games pit near Motif Bar & Lounge. Bong Woo, Director of Slot and Keno Operations, said Turning Stone always strives to make sure it stocks the slot floor with games that will make guests happy.
“People love playing slot machines that have connections to their favorite movies and shows,” Bong said. “As these slots become available, we bring them in whenever we can.”
Each of these special themed slot machines features iconic characters from their respective namesake shows. The slots also feature digital video clips that are incorporated into game play. These same clips play on repeat when the games are idle, intriguing guests to pay attention as they walk past.
Without question, the most popular of the bunch has been The Game of Thrones machine. This title has a huge video screen and stars Daenerys Targaryen, the hero-turned-villain played by actor Emilia Clarke. Other recognizable characters from the show include the dragons that Targaryen raises, and Arya Stark, played by actor Maisie Williams.
The Ghostbusters slot spotlights characters from the original film such as the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man and Dan Ackroyd’s character (Ray Stantz), as well as other iconic items such as a proton pack and a ghost trap. The 4D slot also has a vibrating chair.
Then, of course, there’s the Monty Python slot, which not only incorporates characters from the Holy Grail movie, but also works in obtuse jokes and details that only true fans would know.
These slot machines pay out just like every other slot machine on the casino floor.
Even if you choose not to play, the machines are fun to find on the gaming floor and even more enjoyable to witness in real life. Next time you’re at Turning Stone, be sure to look them up.
